Building modern websites without overcomplicating them

A good website is rarely the one with the most effects. Start with structure, make the hierarchy obvious, build mobile-first and only then add motion where it improves understanding.

Start with the content

Before choosing animations or components, decide what the visitor needs to see and do. A clear structure makes every later design decision easier.

Use motion with a job

Transitions can guide attention, establish continuity and make interactions feel responsive. If an effect does none of those things, it probably does not need to exist.

Keep the code maintainable

Separate variables, layout rules, reusable components and page-specific styles. That makes future changes dramatically easier.
